2011 Nissan LEAF Seat Room and Comfort: Pros | ||

The front and rear seats are very comfortable. The back can be cramped with three passengers. The SL has heated front and rear seats which works great and are needed as the car heater is very slow to initially get warm. The heated steering wheel is also a nice touch. The seat fabric is soft but the light color might not wear well. see full Nissan LEAF review |

This is a "real" car not a toy. It took a while to get used to total silence when you stop at a light. It is suprisingly fast up to about 45 mph. Cold a/c. Being electric, the first maintenance is 17500 miles. I'm doing fine with the level 1 charger that came with the car. see full Nissan LEAF review |

The performance is astounding. It is oddly quite with a small hum or whirling noise. Stepping on the throttle it will easily spin its front tires. see full Nissan LEAF review |

One of the things that sold me on the LEAF was the unexpected power that the car produces when you hit the accelerator. I have no problem with uphill freeway on-ramps or passing cars. On the freeway by my house, there is a large hill that most 4 cylinder cars have a problem climbing, but not the LEAF. I expected the car to slow as it reached the top the hill, instead I had to let of on the pedal as I passed through 75 mph. Compared to my 6 cylinder Altima, I would say it is equally as responsive, although I'm sure the Altima would have no problem getting an upper hand on a straight away. This is in no way a Mustang GT, but compared to a Honda Civic it has quite a bit of pep. see full Nissan LEAF review |

It's instaneous; it's powerful; it's silent; and it's vibration-free. All that you know when you push down on the accelerator, is the silent power push you back in your seat as the car takes off. see full Nissan LEAF review |

This car has really good pickup below 30 mph. Its fun to pseudo race other drivers at stop lights and get to the speed limit quickly. see full Nissan LEAF review |

The "gear shift" only has 4 options. Park, Forward, Reverse and Neutral. It also has an "Eco" mode that tries to maximize your range. The car has a lot of pick up and it is always available instantly. Acceleration is smooth and constant with no jerky interuptions from a transmision to interfere with it. It makes for a very fun ride. see full Nissan LEAF review |

Was worried about "range anxiety". After a month, we don't even think about it. Except to try it out, we have never plugged in away from home. see full Nissan LEAF review |

The tires make a scrubbing noise on the pavement when turning. A testament to the quietness of the car. see full Nissan LEAF review |
