2013 Kia Soul Seat Room and Comfort: Cons | ||

The seats are similarly sufficient for casual around-town driving but subpar for even moderate distances. Less than half way through our four-hour drive the hard, flat cushions grew uncomfortable. see full Kia Soul review |

2014 | 0 | The front seat is every bit as uncomfortable as the previous model. No improvement here. A tall person will be more comfortable sitting in the rear seat. see full Kia Soul review |

2013 | 4dr Hatch 164-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD |
The biggest surprise in driving this car for 3 weeks was the powertrain. The 6 spd automatic with 2L motor is brilliant when driven in the select shift manual mode. Instant upshifts and downshifts, no lag in response, immediate compression braking on downshifts. I drive a 5 spd manual usually, and nobody can shift as fast as this car with a clutch and manual. The engine provides good acceleration and gets buzzy enough at higher revs to let you know what is going on in the engine. A lot of fun for a reasonable price. see full Kia Soul review |

2014 | 0 | The change to direct injection is a step backwards. Despite the official HP stats ,This 2.0 direct in jection engine is weaker than the previous 2.0 intake port injected engine. Even using the manual shifting side of the tranny to keep revs up, the engine just gives up on long uphills. Other drivers have reported the same problem . In the city, the difference is not very noticeable. see full Kia Soul review |
