2 door is easy to get in and out of. The leather seating option makes for a comfortable ride especially for such a small car. see full Ford Focus review |

The first-generation Focus has great seats -- cushy, well-bolstered, and high off the floor. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 4dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
It was a pleasant surprise when we discovered how comfortable the front seats were for long road trips. They are contoured enough so I can lay the seat back, with a small pillow and take a nice long nap. This is probably highly subjective, but for us, the car seats have been just what we wanted. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 2dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
The front seat has more room than one would expect. I have yet to encounter someone who has not fit inside comfortably, despite their size. Being over 6ft tall, I drive daily without feeling cramped or enclosed. see full Ford Focus review |

Due to the lack of rear seat room, you must slide the front seats forward to prevent a child from kicking their feet on the back of the seats. Only a booster seat with the front seats forward will minimize this problem. see full Ford Focus review |

2009 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Well-rounded two-liter engine with very responsive drive-by-wire throttle. Quiet at moderate revs and light throttle, with a little snarl when stood on. PZEV cleanliness. MTX-75 geared a bit short in first through third gears, good on hills and stop/go. see full Ford Focus review |
2009 | 2dr Coupe 143-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Power is not sacrificed for economy. Acceleration is quick and there is plenty of passing power. Transmission shifts smoothly, and has a positive feel for each gear. When accelerating hard, the car leaps from gear to gear. see full Ford Focus review |

2007 | 4dr Sedan 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
It has very good power in the city and on the highway. There is no problem merging with traffic on the highway. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 4dr Sedan 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
In four years I have added over 60,000 miles to the odometer and never had a problem with reliability. I have had to replace the battery twice, but that's to be expected in an extreme climate like where I live. Also had the problems previously mentioned. I had a rug get caught in one of my tires when I was driving and the tire caught fire, but by some miracle there was no other damage to the car or the electrical system. Of course I did have to buy new tires, but I needed to anyway. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 2dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Engine is solid with no problems to date. Power is not anything to write home about, but the car gets out of its own way and does not feel dangerously underpowered. Transmission shits nicely and the clutch has an easy feel and takes little to no effort to drive in traffic. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 4dr Sedan 151-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Not so much raw performance, but more the torquey character of the motor and the exhaust note. It's an engine & gearbox that you can rev out or just putter around short shifting and it handles both equally well. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 2dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
5 speed has great ratios for acceleration and cruising, good power balanced by good fuel economy, very smooth engine management see full Ford Focus review |
