It was a pleasant surprise when we discovered how comfortable the front seats were for long road trips. They are contoured enough so I can lay the seat back, with a small pillow and take a nice long nap. This is probably highly subjective, but for us, the car seats have been just what we wanted. see full Ford Focus review |

The front seat has more room than one would expect. I have yet to encounter someone who has not fit inside comfortably, despite their size. Being over 6ft tall, I drive daily without feeling cramped or enclosed. see full Ford Focus review |

2007 | 4dr Sedan 151-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Not so much raw performance, but more the torquey character of the motor and the exhaust note. It's an engine & gearbox that you can rev out or just putter around short shifting and it handles both equally well. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 4dr Sedan 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
It has very good power in the city and on the highway. There is no problem merging with traffic on the highway. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 2dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Engine is solid with no problems to date. Power is not anything to write home about, but the car gets out of its own way and does not feel dangerously underpowered. Transmission shits nicely and the clutch has an easy feel and takes little to no effort to drive in traffic. see full Ford Focus review |
2007 | 4dr Sedan 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
In four years I have added over 60,000 miles to the odometer and never had a problem with reliability. I have had to replace the battery twice, but that's to be expected in an extreme climate like where I live. Also had the problems previously mentioned. I had a rug get caught in one of my tires when I was driving and the tire caught fire, but by some miracle there was no other damage to the car or the electrical system. Of course I did have to buy new tires, but I needed to anyway. see full Ford Focus review |

2006 | 2dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
The 2 liter PZEV rated engine provides smooth torque from around 2000 rpms on up. I can go as slow as 25 mph in 5th gear and the car will still accelerate. At a mere 2 liters, this engine performs llike the V8 and V10 engines in my larger Ford trucks. see full Ford Focus review |
2005 | 4dr Hatch 136-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
This car was equipped with the 5 speed manual transmission, which contributed to the excellent mileage, and was definitely more fun to drive. It had way more than adequate power to merge at freeway speeds and to pass on single lane highways, yet returned 40 MPG at steady 70 MPH speeds. It still had the original clutch, front pads & rotors and rear drums. We did replace the battery after 5 years though. All fluids were regularly changed (including the coolant and transaxle oil) with Ford recommended synthetics; the engine was still so quiet that you couldn't hear it purring from 10 feet away! Kudos to Ford for one of the best and slickest shifters I've ever used. I actually prefer it to the several performance sticks I've driven, and I would add that the clutch, whilst not BMW level quality, was better than any small import I've ever driven, including a Honda clutch. see full Ford Focus review |

The Focus ST features a larger 2.3 liter engine than the standard 2.0 l. It is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and was the sport version of the Focus in 2005. The 2.3 provides responsive, excellent low and mid-end torque and great fuel economy. see full Ford Focus review |
