Find a (used) V8 if you can. No more V8 from Volvo. see full Lincoln LS review |

The engine start up sound for the V8 is straight from the '60 muscle car era. Always a smile on my face. Plenty of power. OK gas milage for a heavy V8. Transmission shifts are a little wonky, most all times smooth, but ocasionally hard in the 1-2 shift. Very comfortable seats. All wheel drive is stable in rain and snow. Don't believe in Volvo's advice in the "service for life" recommendations not to change the drivetrain fluids. Change the fluids for best life expectancy. see full Lincoln LS review |

Transmission advice from Volvo is "sealed for life" Don't believe it. Change all the drivetrain fluids. Fluids are much less expensive than replacing hardware. My transmission has a very rare hard shift between 1->2 gears. Operating normally per Volvo. see full Lincoln LS review |
