2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Enough head room for a tall person in front seats. On the Civic, my head was bumping against the visor. However on the FIT the seat height is *not* adjustable, on the Civic it is. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4

2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4

2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The front seats are very uncomfortable. I would not enjoy taking the Fit on a long drive. The uncomfortable front seats cancel out how amazing the magic seats in back are. see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The bench seat is a bit uncomfortable and 2 adults and a booster seat is only really workable for short trips. Leg room is pretty small for big passangers. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
There's barely any space in the back for a child. see full Honda Fit review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2010 Honda Fit

2010 Honda Fit Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The engine is smooth and peppy. The transmission is pretty well sorted, save for some unusual 1st gear start jerkiness (light throttle helps). The paddle shifters are a fun novelty. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
It is really reliable. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
A little more powerful than the Yaris see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
shifting and clutch response far superior than yaris, slightly better than Xd.Much more pep than yaris, and better handling than yaris or Xd. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed automatic FWD
The engine is very rev-happy and is up quite a bit to over 120hp as opposed to the pathetic 104hp of the previous model. V-Tec engages very positively and offers a noticeable improvement in acceleration. see full Honda Fit review
2010 Honda Fit Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed automatic FWD
Garden variety automatic transmission. Nothing too inspiring. see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Manual trans models are fun, even though providing fairly modest acceleration. AT models are lethargic...like hitched to a millstone. Very sluggish. see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
Upper end of MT should be geared a bit higher. Hiway MPG worse than local MPG see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
little underpowered but that is coming from a larger engine see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Slow to accelerate, could use 10 ft-lbs. more torque see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Small, weak engine, but it can accelerate quickly for what it is. Most important issue, but definitely not a major con. see full Honda Fit review
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
What a dog, enough said. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The 117bhp version is extremely under-powered. It's hard to maintain highway speeds at reasonable rpm's with 3 people of average weight in the car. The acceleration feels sluggish and throttle feels unresponsive at times. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
greatly underpowered when carrying anything more than driver and one passenger. see full Honda Fit review
2009 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed manual FWD
Very underpowered with any added weight beyond driver + passenger. see full Honda Fit review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Tires of the 2010 Honda Fit

2010 Honda Fit Tires: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2010 4dr Hatch 117-horsepower 1.5L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The 16 inch rims of the Fit Sport doesn't give you much of a selection for tires. The ones that are available don't last more than 30k. All of them give you a rough ride, that's due to the short length of the car, not the tires. That being said, the tires that have made the most difference in ride-quality and tread wear was the Firestone Precision Touring 195/55/r16. This tire is the biggest tire you can fit on the factory rims and still have it fit in the wheel well. Made the ride more comfortable, not perfect mind you, but a noticeable difference in how it absorbs the bumps on the road. see full Honda Fit review
