The Fit's new face is much more bold, while avoiding the oddity of some other recent Hondas. The extent of the changes is much more apparent when parking the old and new cars side-by-side.
The more sophisticated styling continues through the newly chiseled body sides. Too many similarities between the Fit and Versa Note for these to be coincidental?
More athletic proportions: overall length reduced by 1.6 inches yet wheelbase increased by 1.2. Also much more going on with the new Fit from the rear quarter. I could do w/o the faux extractors.
Not beautiful, but interesting, with some nicely integrated details. Plus a thick band of chrome. Cleaner styling than the new Fit's, but the various lines aren't as tightly integrated.
Note the relationships among the rear side window, tail light, and deeply chiseled character line. The door alignment could be more precise.
The new Honda Fit's interior is more upscale. Which isn't the same as upscale. The Nissan's interior looks and feels cheaper.
Tastefully done chrome trim around the air vents. But the fake stitching on the passenger side... The large HVAC knobs are easy to operate. The knobless infotainment interface is not.
Heated leather seats bring some luxury to the Fit. But not everyone will find them comfortable. Roomy rear seat for such a small car. But the Versa Note's is even roomier.
There's a useful amount of cargo space even without folding the seat. Thanks to innovative packaging, the rear seat folds to yield a low, flat floor and 53 cubic feet.
Fold the rear seat cushions upward to carry fairly tall objects. Good power (130) and efficiency (32/38), but buzzy.
