The BMW "kidneys" can't grow much more. M Sport Line adds this aggressive front fascia. Sleekest from this angle. Not nearly this sleek from most others.
Higher angle, more light. M Sport Line also adds sportier rocker panels and unique wheels. For $1,400 over the Sport Line.
Viewed from a higher angle the 3 GT appears pudgier. Higher roof, longer tail make for a design challenge.
Perhaps the 3 GT's least attractive angle. Don't care for the combination of red leather and aluminum trim? Other combinations are possible.
Curved slice of aluminum trim in center of instrument panel makes interior feel narrower than it is. Very BMW instruments and controls. Clear, but quite severe compared to competitors. Large display.
For the most part these controls work well (once you learn how to use them). Odd shifter, though. Sport Line or M Sport Line is a must to get these supportive seats.
Rear seat surprisingly comfortable and roomy. Well-finished, usefully large cargo area. Hatch lifts well out of the way.
Specs suggest there's nearly as much volume here as in an E-Class wagon. Eyes disagree. Powerful, smooth, and makes good noises. But 328i's four cylinder is more efficient and costs less.
