Jun 202241000 mi | Valve in high pressure service port was leaking. Replaced valves in high and low pressure service ports and recharge. Engine not idling as smooth as I thought it should. Live data showed high short term fuel trim of 18% and low long term fuel trim of -16%. I cleaned the throttle body and it now idles much smoother. Short term fuel trim is now +/- <1% and long tern is -6%. Ecu was not reset and it runs better, with more get up and go that it ever did. |

Oct 201731000 mi | While my girlfriend was driving her car, the brake, ABS, and TCS lights all lit. Later that day the lights turned themselves off. I told her to keep an eye on it to see if it would happen again, at which point we'd take full advantage of that fantastic factory warranty! A month or so went by and the lights came on again, so a service trip was planned. The dealer was well aware of this failure, and stated that often when the failure occurs the vehicle gets stuck in "park", since the failure doesn't allow the shift lock to release. Since we'd experienced the failure only when driving, that failure mode didn't present itself. It took about 2 hours to conduct the repair, though I'm sure it could've been done more quickly if the dealership wasn't as busy as it was that day. A brake light switch is a 20-minute replacement if you can yoga yourself into position. I believe there may have been a service bulletin for this repair, but I can't be certain. The failure is quite common though, as per both the dealer and the internet. |

Jan 20173000 mi | Factory Remote Start - Had installed as a gift for my wife and it worked so poorly I had them remove it and refund me. I am told by the dealer Subaru's with the push button start system do not work well with their own factory remote start. Range is limited to only a few car lengths or 20 or 30 feet - totally worthless and very expensive $600 plus. |

Sep 201744014 mi | Car experienced catastrophic engine failure in June 2017 due to factory defect. Entire engine was REPLACED. Head gasket installed during repair was faulty, but went unnoticed. Car overheated at full speed due to head gasket failure. Brought to shop in September 2017 to replace head gasket. Car was burning through coolant at an alarming rate and Check Engine light was on. History: factory default caused catastrophic engine failure at <29,000 miles. Engine was REPLACED June of 2017. Head gasket installed during that repair was damaged but not noticed. Car returned to shop September 2017 after head gasket failed. Head gasket replaced again. Started burning through coolant again, came close to overheating. Brought in with suspicion of warped head. Dealership found no fault with head; could not immediately determine source of problem. Replaced all seals in cooling system; repaired oil control valve. Time will tell if this solved the problem. | ||
Jun 201845900 mi | This car continues to have coolant getting into the engine. After several attempts to fix it, to no avail.
