Jun 201510000 mi | AC not cooling car. Dealer found AC hose leaking. Replaced, recharged. Still not cooling well. AC randomly goes to FULL HEAT in the middle of a Florida summer. Been to the shop THREE times now, still a problem Transmission clunks when shifting from 3->2. Taken to the dealer 3 times, still not right. Taking it back in again this week. Rattle from instrument cluster, B-pillar, rear shelf hard drive squeals periodically Check Engine Light came on. Dealership says they updated software. Dealership didn't know what was wrong other than the light was on and they updated the software. Self-driving system and ECO start/stop were fighting with each other at red lights, causing the car to lurch forward and turn off brake lights. Not sure what the dealer did, but they actually managed to fix this.
Dec 201518000 mi | Not cooling sufficiently (still) Engine stalled out twice with car shifting 2-> AC goes to full heat automatically Hard drive squeaks -- replaced entire AV/NAV headend Transmission clunks. Since last time it only clunks shifting 4->3. They've tried numerous things. They have offered to buy back the car, as they have others for this, but I'd rather they just fix this one. Rear window shelf area still has rattle -- I finally localized it to the 3rd brake light cover...but still needs to be repaired. They tried felt-lining the instrument cluster (failed), replaced cluster (worked)
May 201625600 mi | They tried software updates... Worked well for 2 whole days... Rear shelf still rattling No-start. Car would energize the starter for a normal amount of time, but no ignition. Car seemed to think the engine was running when it wasn't. Replaced air shrouds, crankshaft sensor, more software updates Exterior mirrors squeal when motorized folding/unfolding Stereo system rebooted / lost settings overnight Radiator coolant fluid smell from outside vehicle. Replaced cap, replaced seals Rough idle / swaying back & forth motion of car ever since they updated the software. Bluetooth audio keeps cutting out. Problem started after a software update. Now they've been replacing parts, but not fixed. Bluetooth worked fine until software update was done to car 360 Degree Cameras periodically won't come on. Replaced camera module 2x, replaced car stereo
Dec 201747000 mi | Rear shelf became warped from heat of sun. Replaced. Motorized rear shade broke -- only one side would move AC goes to full heat by itself...even when full cool is selected All 3 batteries (Aux/Cabin, Transmission, Starter) replaced to address random electrical glitches. Ultimately, the car's power supply is unstable. If we "run" the car connected to mains power off a stable power source, everything in the car works normally. When the batteries in the car are replaced, all of the systems will be stable for awhile. Once the batteries start to age, the electrical gremlins start up again. This car has 3 batteries: 1) Starter/Main, 2) Aux, 3) Transmission. The Starter battery is your traditional setup. Once the engine's on, it starts charging the Aux battery. Once Aux is up to voltage, it switches most of the loads over to the Aux battery. The Aux battery is what keeps everything going during the ECO Start/Stop functions and also isolates the electronics from the wild voltage swings when the engine restarts. So they assumed... If there's any ripples on the Aux bus, everything goes to pot. The design might have worked, but they're using far too small of an auxiliary battery (probably for weight savings), so the battery's taking a beating and the systems never accounted for the aux bus being unstable. They also kind of forgot about voltage drop vs. wire resistance. Audio keeps cutting out. Started when the radio was "updated" due to problems with the 360 cameras. Car will sometimes crank but no ignition. Various systems updated, Crankshaft sensor replaced, all 3 batteries in the car replaced. Replacing the batteries made the problem go away for awhile, but it came back. Random electrical glitches in the car. |
