I had to take it to the shop and they identified a cell that was bad and replaced the whole battery. It was more expensive than some other 12V batteries. All total, I guess around $250 including diagnosis, parts and labor. Also I took the opportunity to have some needed regular checks performed, and some coolant flushed.
