As I had had the battery replaced under warranty less than a year before, I asked what kind of problem and I had not had any difficulty starting the vehicle. They showed me the "test results", everything was fine except the battery temperature was noted to be 111 degrees F. As the battery was a warranty replacement they told me the cost would be $140.00, i.e., no warranty. First of all I pointed out that the outside temp was about 89 degrees and the engine compartment was surly somewhat over 100 degrees as a base line. They insisted that the battery failed and they strongly recommended I spend $140 as the battery had failed. That was 3 weeks ago and still no problems at all with the battery. I complained to the service department and they said they had to go by the test results. How about the warranty, I asked. I had not paid for the battery, therefor no warranty was, well, warranted. I informed them that I would be taking the vehicle to another shop, one that used their heads rather than a rule book.... | ||
