This left the screw part stuck in the mounting hinge in a terribly inaccessible location. To repair it requires the removal of the entire hatch, which itself actually requires the interior trim to be removed. The dealership estimated this to be an $1100 repair. That cost is simply not worth it to me, so I no longer use the mechanical hatch and operate it by hand.
