The next day the battery proved to be in good working order and no replacement required. However, the far more costly repair was to replace the alternator. Unfortunately on a 6 cyl. Camry the radiator has to be moved in order to do so. Thereby adding a significant amount of labour time. Our mechanic believes that the boost given with our engine running caused an electrical spike that overwhelmed the alternator. In future boosts should only be given with the host engine off... An expensive lesson! | ||
