The infamous grommet that normally causes backup had already been removed, so the cause is unclear. We agreed to drill into the lowest part of the pan and run a 16" 1/3" hose to the transmission tunnel, where another hole was drilled, and the line was sealed in. Works like a charm. Engine was throwing P0300 codes intermittently. During a triage drive, cyl 1 was the culprit. We changed all 8 plugs, and hoped. All was good until highway speeds when various cyl were reporting "hiccups" but not throwing misfire codes. Turns out, a radial belt on a faulty rear tire had slipped, causing a minor vibration at the right frequency to start triggering the individual cyl knock sensors. Tire replaced, car purrs. | ||
